Goosberry Falls Campout July 22 - 25, 2010
Spend Thrusday through Sunday camping and hiking Goosberry Falls State Park and other area trails.
Gooseberry has three group sites that are accessed from a separate road that heads South off the main park road. The shared parking lot is just South of the Gitchi Gami Bike Trail. We are staying at the Birch Ridge group campsite. The Birch Ridge group site is a tent only camp and accommodates up to 50 people. The Birch Ridge Camp contains two level camping areas. Drinking water is available near the parking area. Vault toilets are available. You can use the carts to haul in camping gear. A trail leads one-third of a mile to the main campground shower house.
We will be doing lots of hiking along the rivers, waterfalls, and Lake Superior.
A small group of Troop 204 Scouts will hike several days on the Superior Hiking Trail and join the rest of the troop Thursday at the Birch Ridge site.
